Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q does what it says: barbecue, cooked over oak, no apology required.
On the Southwest Freeway in Richmond, Rudy's runs oak smoke 7 to 9 most days, later on weekends — barbecue by the pound, a country store and gas in the same room. It's the format Rudolph Aue's 1929 Leon Springs filling station grew into once barbecue joined in 1989.
