Russell and Misty Roegels opened their Texas barbecue joint in 2014 and landed on Texas Monthly's Top 50 three years later.
Russell and Misty Roegels opened Roegels in Houston in 2014, and by 2017 it had made Texas Monthly's Top 50, with an honorable mention following in 2022. The South Voss Road pit turns out Central Texas barbecue that earned the recognition the long way. It has grown into a small chain, but this is the one that started it.
