Mack "Doc" Holiday started this outfit in 1989, and it's built on oak smoke and the kind of patience that comes with doing things the right way. This Chandler location sits on West Chandler Boulevard and opens early — 6 a.m. most days — because barbecue doesn't wait and neither do people with work to do.
It's a Texas barbecue joint with a country store attached, which means you get both the pit and the goods. Wood-fired, oak-fueled, no shortcuts. Open late on weekends if you're the type to plan ahead.
