Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q brings Texas barbecue and a working country store to El Paso's Far East side.
Mack "Doc" Holiday started this outfit in 1989, and it's grown into a multi-location operation that hasn't lost sight of what matters: wood-fired oak and the kind of food that justifies the drive. This El Paso branch sits on Joe Battle, open early and late most days — 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends, earlier closing the rest of the week. It's a barbecue joint and country store in one, which means you can eat and browse without apology.
Texas barbecue, cooked the right way, over oak. No frills advertised here, which is exactly the point.
