The Brownsville Rudy's on Expressway 77-83 runs oak smoke seven days a week, early to evening — brisket and sausage by the pound, a country store and gas alongside. It's the format Rudolph Aue's 1929 Leon Springs filling station grew into once barbecue joined the menu in 1989.
