Rudy's has a foothold on Midland's east side, on the Loop 250 frontage road — oak-fired barbecue by the pound and a country store under one roof, open early to late, past nine Friday and Saturday. The format traces to Rudolph Aue's 1929 Leon Springs filling station, barbecue added in 1989.
