Since 1996, Jeff and Joy Stehney have been serving Kansas City barbecue from a former gas station at 47th and Main. People queue past the pumps for it. No reservations. Walk-ins only. When it's busy, it's busy — that's the deal.
Joe's has expanded to Leawood and Olathe, but the original location remains what it's always been: a pit, a queue, and the quiet confidence of a place that knows exactly what it is. Open 11 to 9 most days, 10 to 10 Friday and Saturday. Closed Sundays and the major holidays.
