This North Austin Rudy's on Research Boulevard runs the chain's country-store-plus-barbecue format — oak-smoked brisket, ribs and sausage sold by the pound, a convenience store and gas alongside. It traces back to Rudolph Aue's 1929 Leon Springs filling station, which added barbecue in 1989. Walk in, order, eat.
