Mack "Doc" Holiday built Rudy's in 1989 on a simple idea: barbecue and a country store, side by side. That formula has held. This outpost on Research Boulevard in North Austin carries the same wood-fired approach, the same oak smoke, the same refusal to complicate things.
Walk in, order, eat. No frills. No shortcuts. Just Texas barbecue done the way it's been done for decades.
