MISSION BBQ — Middletown
The Atlas Review
The BBQ Atlas
MISSION BBQ opened in 2011 when two friends decided American barbecue and patriotism belonged under one roof.
This Middletown outpost sits on Aquidneck Avenue, serving the same menu that's made MISSION BBQ a multi-state operation: smoked meats with a side of Stars and Stripes. The brand leans into its theme — every location opens at 11:00 most days in tribute to first responders — and this one keeps to that schedule, closing at 21:00 Monday through Saturday, 20:00 on Sundays.
The food is straightforward American barbecue, no regional allegiance declared. You order at the counter, the kitchen does its work, and you eat. It's barbecue built to scale, and Middletown's version delivers what the chain promises: smoke, meat, and a flag on the wall.
