Burnt Smokehouse
The Atlas Review
The BBQ Atlas
Burnt Smokehouse does Texas barbecue from a railway arch in Leyton, walk-ins only, halal-friendly.
A barbecue restaurant operating out of a railway arch on Midland Road, Burnt Smokehouse takes a Texas approach to meat and smoke. No bookings — you arrive, you queue, you eat. The setup is straightforward: show up when they're open, order at the counter, take what they have.
They've built a following quietly, which is how these things tend to work. The menu leans Texas-style, and they've made a point of being halal-friendly, which narrows nothing and opens doors. Open Friday through Sunday, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Phone ahead if you need to know what's left, but the whole operation runs on the assumption that you'll turn up ready to eat what's ready to eat.
