Carnivore
The Atlas Review
The BBQ Atlas
Carnivore is an open-air institution on Langata Road where meat arrives on traditional Maasai swords and the meal is all of it.
Since 1980, Carnivore has done one thing on a grand scale: meat roasted over charcoal on Maasai swords, carried table to table until you lower the little flag on your plate and admit defeat. The Beast of a Feast is the fixed-price spread — soup, salads, sides, meats, dessert and coffee — with a vegetarian menu for the differently inclined. Open daily, noon to eleven; walk-ins welcome, though a reservation is wiser.
