Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ
Homewood, United States
This is the Homewood outpost of Rodney Scott's operation, serving barbecue daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Stop by 2701 18th Street South, call ahead if you need to, or find them online — they're there when you're ready.

SAW's BBQ
Homewood, United States
SAW's started here in Homewood in 2009, in a room barely bigger than the pit. The name is Mike Wilson's old high-school nickname — Sorry Ass Wilson — which tells you how seriously the place takes itself and how seriously it takes the barbecue, which is to say: not the first, very much the second. Pulled pork, ribs, and smoked chicken come off slow, and the tangy, mayo-based Alabama white sauce goes on the chicken the way it's meant to. Order the pork-and-greens the regulars swear by.
